This blessing by Julia Cameron is beautiful and poignant, and especially good for placing on a healing altar. What I love about this blessing is that it does not separate me from the person who is requesting healing. We are one. Today I support you; tomorrow it may be your turn to support me. This blessing also speaks to those who are grieving the pain of loss, perhaps the death of a loved one. But in our hearts their essence carries on: they go forward as ‘loving treasure in our hearts’.

All of Humanity is my Beloved Family

We are one tribe. I cherish our unity. We are united by our suffering and by our joy. One life flows through all life. One heart holds every heart. The loss I sustain today is the beginning of a larger, wiser and kinder tomorrow. It is a part of the dignity of those we lose that go forward bearing them as loving treasures in our hearts. I cherish those whom I carry in my heart. I honor their thoughts, their wisdom, their guidance, and their support. I bring them forward through my actions towards the future they empowered.

The impulse to put Feng Shui principles into our homes is often instinctive. I once did a consultation for a newly married couple who had just bought their first home together.

Many of the rooms were filled with unpacked cartons. There was little furniture and the walls were bare – except for one room. It was completely furnished and decorated, and had a very warm feeling. And this room just happened to be in the area of the house that corresponded to love and marriage. I have seen similar ‘coincidences’ many times in my work as a feng shui practitioner. As I mentioned I believe good feng shui design is instinctive and natural.

I also see that when we begin having difficulties — with relationships, self expression or life in general — those instincts are thrown off. In other words, we get out of alignment with who we really are, what our priorities are, and what our goals and dreams are. When we are out of alignment our instincts are not as sharp.

Feng Shui looks to see what out of alignment and offers balancing adjustments. In Interior Alignment™ (the type of feng shui I teach), we strongly take into consideration the goals and dreams you have for your life. It is really feng shui life coaching.

I will be writing more about feng shui life coaching in future articles as this is where my private feng shui practice is leading me. It is an area I am very excited about. Basically, when you are aligned with your purpose and goals, you will be pulled back on track — naturally. And when your living environment mirrors and reflects your purpose and goals, when all is clear and in alignment, the law of attraction will also work for you.

There are many good reasons for practicing kindness. Are you familiar with the saying ‘what goes around, comes around’? But perhaps my favourite is a story I read in Jamie Sams oracle card set Sacred Path Cards: The Discovery of Self Through Native Teachings. She wrote about a lesson her grandfather gave her on being aware that the energy she sent out has an impact on everyone else.

Jamie’s grandfather took her to a pond and told her to throw a stone in the water and observe the circles created by the splash. He said,

‘You may create lots of splashes in your life but the waves that come from those splashes will disturb the peace of all your fellow creatures. Remember that you are responsible for what you put in your circle and that your circle will also touch many other circles. You will need to live in a way that allows the good that comes from your circle to send the peace of that goodness to others. The splash that comes from anger or jealousy will send those ugly feelings to other circles. You are responsible for both.’

Think of acts of kindness you can do for others, and in so doing you will raise your own energy level up. The Dalai Lama wrote that “When we feel love and kindness toward others, it not only makes others feel loved and cared for, but it helps us also to develop inner happiness and peace.”

What ideas can you think of today to make someone else’s life a little easier or make life better in the world? (Even picking up someone else’s garbage on the street counts!) Can you do at least one of those ideas? What feeling did you get?
