Intuition plays a big role in getting on what you want in life. Why? Because it is one of the ways that the universe communicates to us. I loved what Sonia Choquette in Trust your Vibes: Secret Tools for Six-Sensory Living wrote about intuition:

To look at the world from the vantage point of your soul is to look from the Divine part of yourself, which means that you’ll see the world through the eyes of God.

So what happens to your energy on those occasions when you dismiss the nudges of intuition, or downplay them in your life? The universe doesn’t give up. It continues sending out the message until you ‘hear’ the message. In my experience when you ignore the whisperings of your soul, they become shouts, wake-up calls and sometimes, even a crisis.

If you get three intuitive nudges, this is considered a very powerful sign. Pay attention!

The Cosmic Birth Control Device

Have you ever been in the situation where something you really wanted didn’t happen? Perhaps you said to yourself, “it was just not meant to be.” The reasons why we don’t get what we want are not always easy to pin down but some possible explanations are:

At some level we feel undeserving
Our self-doubt sabotages us
Lack of support: Other people tell us it is out of our reach
The goal or dream is not in alignment with our higher self

Let’s look at this last one: The goal or dream is not in alignment with our higher self. What does this mean? Your [tag]higher self[/tag] is your ‘best self’: YOU experiencing yourself as healthy and whole, believing in yourself fully, in alignment with your Source Energy.

Many people experience their higher self in a relationship with a higher power, the Source Energy that goes by many names, some of which are Creator, universal consciousness, Great Spirit, God, Allah, Buddha, Jesus, Krishna, Goddess, Great Spirit, Angels.

We receive guidance from Source Energy, through insight and intuition, meaningful dreams, signs and symbols that repeat, and synchronicity (when the right person shows up in your life and precisely the right time and place).

Listening to these guided messages is efficient. This is the cosmic birth control device. If you are about to go down the wrong path — that is any track that takes you further away from your experiencing your higher self — Source Energy may slow things down, places obstacles in the way, or puts the ‘brakes’ on, so that you do not expend energy needlessly. The birth of [tag]goals and dreams[/tag] that are not in alignment with your higher self is controlled; they simply do not grow.

So how do you know if you are experiencing the effects of the Cosmic Birth Control Device, or whether you are self-sabotaging? Isn’t it enough to make you throw your hands in the air whenever something doesn’t go right and say, “well it’s the Cosmic Birth Control Device, so there is no use trying!’ An easy out and ally for self-sabotaging strategies.

I confess I do not know the answer, but what I do know is that if you check in with your body and your emotions, the answer will be there. How do you feel when you think of that goal? Inspired, excited, motivated? Or ambivalent, anxious, defensive? Tune into your body, find the stillness inside and listen for the answers. The guidance is there, if you listen.
